Let me start by saying I’m very proud of my big homie Props! and his work on his new project ’High As The Starz: The Planet Of Marz,’ and this is why. When it comes to Rap or Hip Hop music it truly takes a lot to impress me especially now a days with all this rachet ‘Trap’ music all over the place. In this project, Props! brought out the side of him that I met the first time I interviewed him, when I say first I mean before I interviewed Props! backstage after one of his show, I interviewed him at the mall however we had camera malfunctions. Never the less, after we realized we were having camera issues, Props! and I talked about life, we talked about his childhood, where he grew up, how he grew up and his life here in Seattle. We even talked about hair at one point in the conversation.
No matter the artist I always look for a story behind the music they make. Anyone can toss together a few random songs, but it takes someone with a little more talent to put together a story, or my favorite, give an inside to their life so the listeners can understand them a little better.
